SPENCERVILLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS                Friday, May 3, 2024

 

Seniors please return your permission slips for the Career Fair to the office today.


Middle School and High School FCA will meet today in Mr. Sommers room during lunch.

 

The Media Center will be closed 7th & 8th period today to Study hall students.

 

There will be a meeting for all 8-11 grade boys interested in playing high school soccer next year in Ms. Brenneman's room on Monday, May 6 during lunch. Please get your lunch and bring it to Ms. Brenneman's room in the high school hallway. See you Monday!

There will be a meeting for current 8-11 grade students interested in Flag Corps for next fall in the Elementary Music room on May 15th at 3:05pm.

Any student who plans to take a CCP class here next year from Franklin University will need to report to Mrs. Klosterman's room 8th period next Monday, May 6th to get registered.  This includes anyone taking speech or Advanced English IV.  

 

Any student who plans to take a CCP class here next year from the University of Findlay will need to report to Miss Brenneman's room 1st period next Tuesday, May 7th to get registered.  This includes anyone taking American History. 

 

Any student who plans to take a CCP class here next year from Rhodes State College will need to report to Mr. Sadler's room 3rd period next Tuesday, May 7th to get registered.  Any student who has taken a class from Rhodes in the past does not need to register again as you are already a student there.  

 

Students with a school issued electronic device/equipment are asked to please return them by Monday, May 10th

 

Free 2024/25 sport physicals for current 6th- 11th grade students will be held on Tuesday, May 21st in the school athletic hallway.  Current 6th- 8th Grade Students: Last Name A-L 3:00-3:30pm, Last name M-Z 3:30-4:00pm.  Current 9th-11th Grade Students:    Last name A – L 4:00-4:30 pm; Last name M- Z 4:30-5:00pm.  Parents may view the required the information in the email sent through FinalForms.  All forms will need to be completed no later than Tuesday, May 14th by 8:00am in order to participate in the free physicals.

 

All library books are due back to The Media Center by Monday, May 6th.  The Media Center will be closing to Study Hall students beginning Friday, May 10th.  If a student needs to take a test or has a special assignment, arrangements to come to the library can be made.

 

 

Any High School student planning on participating in Make a Difference Day permission slips are due today. Please turn in your permission slips to your advisors. 

 

The Jr. High girls track team finished 3rd overall in last nights meet.  Gia Goecke was 2nd in the 100 hurdles and 1st in the 200 hurdles.  The girls 4x400 with Kate Hemker, Nora Gallaspie, Brooklyn Hollar, and Gia Geocke finished in 3rd place.  The boys were 6th place overall with Kolten Grigsby placing 1st in the high jump with a PR of 5’8”, Kolten also placed 3rd in the long jump.  Good job, Bearcats!

 

The Jr. High softball team defeated Columbus Grove last night 12-2.  Lexi Post went the distance on the mound with 16 strikeouts.  Lexi had a single, double, and a triple.  Hailey Wannemacher, Charlie Layman, Delanee Roof, Bella McMichael all had doubles.  Shelby Solomon, Skye Shaw, and Hailey Wannemacher all had hits.  Great game, Bearcats!

 

 

The Lima YMCA has an opportunity for students to gain experience refereeing basketball and being paid at the same time. The YMCA will be holding a Basketball Tournament and an adults men’s league this summer in June where referees will be getting paid $25 per game. Volunteers are also needed for a Summer Basketball Camp to run drills, teams, and skill sessions (Great way to get volunteer hours). Mercy Health is offering an Emergency Training Day for High School Students on May 30, 2024 from 9am-12pm at the GME Building across from St. Rita’s Medical Center.  There is no registration fee for this event. Students will learn the basics of CPR and utilize hands on stop The Bleed Training.  Register at kbarnett3@mercy.com
