Kindness Rocks at Spencerville

Kindness Rocks

Two years, our school kicked off the beginning of the school year with a Kindness initiative. Our elementary/middle students participated in classroom guidance lessons learning about what kindness is, what is looks like and sounds like, and why it is important to show kindness to others. The students then brainstormed ideas for kindness messages.

In Art class, Mrs. Emma Fosnaugh helped the students paint their rocks and add their messages of kindness. These beautiful kindness rocks have been placed along the front of the main school entrance to form a Kindness River. Spencerville Schools invites the community to visit our Kindness rocks and find inspiration to continue spreading kindness to others.  We would like to give a special thank you to Charles River for sponsoring our “Kindness Rocks” sign that is displayed beside our Kindness River.

This is an activity the students have enjoyed very much and take pride in. Each year, we are adding new rocks to our Kindness River.
